How we got here

Started small. Still doing it properly.

I founded dwmedia in 2014 while still at school, starting out with a camera and a laptop and figuring the rest out as I went. What started as filming events grew into something more. First clients before I had left school, then larger briefs, bigger events, and eventually going full time in 2019.

dwmedia now works with production teams, event organisers and venues across the UK on live streaming and live production. The work ranges from main stage festival broadcasts to arena tours, conferences and AGMs, out to remote sites where we bring our own Starlink and bonded 5G because there is nothing else for miles.

Some of it is at proper scale. We have supplied camera systems, operators and PPUs for IMAG across more than twenty arena venues on a single UK tour, including green screen for in-vision BSL. Some of it is a housing association AGM in a community centre. Both get the same standard, because both only happen once.

The approach has always been the same. Turn up prepared, work as part of the team, and make sure everything runs. We do not need managing on show day, which is what most clients actually want.

The team

A small core. The right people for every job.

Around Dan is a core group of around ten regular freelancers. Camera operators, vision mixers, network engineers and production crew who work with us consistently across events.

We do not send whoever is available. The people who turn up to your event have worked with us before, know how we operate and do not need managing any more than we do.

How we work

No surprises. No hand-holding needed.

Event organisers have enough to manage. Your technical partner should not be adding to that list. Here is how we keep it that way.

01 We do the pre-production Venue liaison, site visits where needed, run of show, technical rider, connectivity planning. All handled before the day. You should not have to chase us for any of it.

02 We bring what we need Cameras, crew, encoders, vision mixing and our own bonded connectivity. Where a venue has a dedicated tested line we will use it, but we never arrive assuming one exists.

03 We plan for things to go wrong Failover connectivity and backup encoding. Most problems get resolved before your audience or your client notices anything happened.

Where we are strongest

What we are genuinely good at.

Sites with nothing there Fields, car parks and town squares. Our own power planning, our own connectivity, and no assumption that anything exists on arrival.

Rooms where it must not fail AGMs, board meetings and graduations. One take, a statutory record at the end of it, and no appetite for excitement.

Working inside someone else's schedule Fitting around staging, lighting, audio and a production manager who has enough to think about already.

Doing the same show twenty times Tours, where the value is one plan carried across every venue instead of renegotiating it nightly.

Accessibility that reads as deliberate Captions and BSL designed into the frame from quote stage, including green screen for in-vision interpretation.

Telling you when not to book us If one fixed camera on a free platform does the job, that is what we will say. It costs us a quote and saves you a budget.
