Years of festival seasons

On a festival site, the video crew is usually the problem.

Ask any production manager. Video turns up late, wants a cable run nobody planned for, needs power from a distro that is already full, and is still patching when the first act is due on. By day two they are the department everyone is working around.

We would rather be the department nobody mentions. That means being in the advance early, taking the get-in slot we were given, running cable where we said we would, and being rigged and tested before your line check rather than during it.

The picture matters too, obviously. Main stage IMAG only works if somebody is cutting it properly, because a static wide on a video wall is worse than no wall at all. But the reason people book us for the next season is usually the first thing rather than the second.

What we bring

One crew, three outputs.

Main stage IMAG Cut live by a director, not left on a wide. Four or five cameras covering the stage and the crowd, feeding the walls at a standard that holds up on a screen that size.
Delay screens and overflow The same production drives a delay tower at the back of the field or a screen in a second tent, without a second crew or a second quote.
Broadcast feed as well A stream for the audience at home taken off the same rig, so the online show is not a compromise version of the one in the field.
Connectivity that travels Bonded 4G and 5G across multiple carriers plus Starlink. A field with no line is a planning detail, not a reason the stream fails.
One plan across a tour Same camera language every night, same crew, and a get-in that does not start from scratch at venue four. We have run sixty dates on a single tour.
OB trailer where it earns it A self-contained gallery so we are not asking for a production office or a marquee. On smaller sites a flypack is the honest answer and we will say so.

Questions production managers ask.

Do you work to our production schedule?

Yes, and that is most of the job. We fit into the advance, the get-in and the changeover times you already have, and we are rigged before your line check rather than during it. Production managers book us again because we are not the department they have to chase.

Can you cover a whole tour rather than one show?

Yes, and it is where we do our best work. One plan carried across the run means the same camera language every night, a crew who already know the show, and a get-in that does not start from scratch at each venue. We have done sixty dates on a single tour.

What if the site has no internet?

Normal for a field. Bonded 4G and 5G across multiple carriers plus Starlink travel with us to every job, so a site with no line is a planning detail rather than a problem. Where a venue has a dedicated tested line we will use it.

How many cameras does main stage IMAG need?

Usually four or five: a wide, a long lens at FOH, a camera each side of the stage and something roving for the crowd. More only helps if there is a director cutting them, which is the part that actually makes IMAG watchable.

Can you feed the screens and stream at the same time?

Yes. One production can drive the video walls, a delay screen at the back of the field and a broadcast feed, without three separate crews and three separate quotes.

Do you bring your own trailer?

For the right jobs, yes. An OB trailer means the gallery is self-contained and we are not asking you for a production office or a marquee. On smaller sites a flypack is the sensible answer.

How far ahead should we book?

Festival season concentrates hard, so as soon as the dates are locked. Arena tours we prefer to plan around the production schedule as it forms rather than after the routing is fixed.

Routing your next season?

Send us the dates and the site plan. We would rather be in the advance early than quoted in late.
