Accessibility statement
How this website is built, and what is not perfect.
We sell accessible live streaming, so it would be poor form if our own website was difficult to use. This page says what we have done, what we know still needs work, and how to tell us when something does not work for you.

What we aim for
This website is intended to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.2 at level AA. That is the standard UK public sector bodies are held to, and since a good deal of our work is for councils, NHS trusts, universities and housing associations, it seemed reasonable to hold ourselves to the same thing.
We are not claiming full compliance, because a claim like that is only worth anything after a formal audit and we have not commissioned one. What follows is an honest account rather than a badge.
What we have done
Every page is built to work with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline on links, buttons and expandable sections. Nothing on the site requires a mouse or a hover to reach.
Text is set at a size and weight intended to stay readable, and the colour combinations used for body text and links were checked for contrast rather than chosen by eye. The site works when text is enlarged and when the page is zoomed.
Headings follow a real order rather than being picked for their size, so a screen reader can be used to navigate a page rather than read it end to end. Expandable sections announce whether they are open, and images that carry meaning have text alternatives while decorative ones are marked to be skipped.
Motion is kept to gentle fades as content scrolls into view, and if your device is set to reduce motion, all of it is switched off. Nothing on the site autoplays with sound, flashes, or moves without you scrolling.
The site is a set of ordinary web pages rather than an application, which is deliberate. It means it works with no JavaScript, on old devices, and on a slow connection.
What we know is not right yet
Some images do not have descriptive text alternatives. Our photography came across from an older website with no alternative text recorded, and rather than invent descriptions of photographs we cannot verify, they are currently marked as decorative. We are working through them properly. If you rely on alternative text and hit a gap, tell us and we will prioritise that page.
Some documents on the site are PDFs, including our policy documents. PDFs are harder to use with assistive technology than a web page. If you need any of them in another format, ask and we will provide one.
Content hosted by other services, such as our booking page, is not built by us and we cannot guarantee it meets the same standard. If you cannot use it, ring us on 0191 694 1001 and we will book the call for you.
If something does not work
Tell us. Email hello@thedwmedia.co.uk or ring 0191 694 1001, say which page and what happened, and we will fix it or find another way to get you what you need.
We aim to respond within two working days. If you need information from this website in a different format, including a document read out over the phone, ask and we will sort it.
This statement
Prepared in August 2026 and based on our own testing rather than an external audit. We review it when the website changes substantially.
