What does it cost to live stream a conference in the UK?
Most people asking this have already been given a quote and want to know whether it was reasonable. Here is the honest range, and what actually moves the number.

A single-camera conference stream with one operator, a clean feed of the slides and audio taken from the desk starts at around £500 plus VAT for a day. That covers a single room, one platform, and a recording afterwards.
A multi-camera conference stream starts at around £1,950 plus VAT. That is two or three cameras with a director cutting live, lower thirds for speakers, slide integration and a programme record. This is what most conference organisers actually mean when they say live streaming, because a single locked-off camera on a stage for eight hours is very hard to watch.
Above that, costs scale with rooms, days and complexity rather than with anything mysterious. A second breakout room is close to a second production. Two days is not twice one day, because the rig only goes in once.
What actually moves the price
Number of rooms
This is the biggest single factor and the one most often underestimated. A three-room conference is three productions running at once, not one production with extra cameras.
Get-in time
A venue that lets you in the night before costs less to deliver than one that opens at 6am on the day of a 9am start, because the second one needs more crew to rig in the same window.
Presentation integration
Taking a laptop feed and cutting it into the stream is standard. Managing the presentations, handling speakers who arrive with a file on a memory stick, and running the room screens as well is a separate role.
Recording and edits afterwards
A raw programme record is usually included. Chaptered sessions, topped and tailed, delivered per speaker is extra work and should be priced separately.
Travel and accommodation
Any supplier who does not mention this in the quote will mention it in the invoice.
What should already be in the price
A quote that looks cheap is often cheap because something has been left out. Check for connectivity, insurance, and a plan for what happens when something fails.
On connectivity: a dedicated tested line at the venue gets used where there is one. Shared guest WiFi does not carry a broadcast. Bonded 4G and 5G across multiple carriers plus Starlink travel to every job as failover, which means the stream does not depend on the venue having its act together.
On failure: ask what happens if a camera dies at 11am. The answer should be specific.
